Prompt: With 4.5-week grades posting on September 2, reflect on your experience in American Literature so far. What has been going well for you, what has been challenging, and what is one thing you need to improve moving forward?

Prompt:  After being int American Lit for a while I can tell that I will enjoy everything I have to learn. Doing the blog posts and assignments has been very good for me so far. Getting everything done in class while trying to remember everything has most like;y been the most challenging. Moving forward I would work on improving my efficiency and analysis of poems.  Summary: I worked on my Emily Dickinson paper then did a illuminate poem assignment. Reflection: School has been challenging but also very helpful. The things I´ve learned helped me understand people and their writing better.

Describe one thing that makes you different from other people.

Prompt Response: One thing that makes me different from others is my sense of emotional maturity. For my age I think I am able to think more deeply and somewhat in a more mature way than others. And that I don't mean that I'm a serious person but that I take in things and try to understand them from different perspectives. I try to think about what people mean when they say or do something. This makes me somewhat different from other people especially in my age group. Summary: I learned about Emily Dickinson and  how to analyze poems. Reflection: I now understand American Literature more. By learning about the poem "I'm Nobody, who are you?" it was short but insightful this allowed me to learn more about her perspective.

Prompt: Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt Response: I would like to go on an adventure in a place like Thailand. Somewhere rural with a lot of nature where I can explore a lot and see new things. Meet new people and eat new foods and just keep walking until I find the next fun thing. As well as go sky diving and go on the zip line. This kind of adventure would definitely open my eyes to the world and be lots of fun. Summary: I took the time to perfect my origin myth visual before presenting it the next day. Reflection: I've become more aware of how old historical roots still influence American Literature. Modern ideas mixed with old ones to elevate more ideas.

Prompt: What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

Prompt Response: I once made a story about a maggots, it was bout how this girl got injured and while injured this led to her two friends to find out she has been getting neglected and abused at home. They allowed her wound to fester on her leg for so long maggots appeared. I made it when I was in 6th or 7th after coming across this story about how a girl became paralyzed on her couch and her family just left her there to rot. That was the first and last time I was so deeply passionate about writing it also opened a door for me to maybe write a book one day. Summary: I worked more on my visual posters of my origin myth. Reflection: I learned the importance of applying themes into texts. My origin myth was able to come alive when I accurately applied it.

Prompt: Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

Response: I've always thought about the wonders of the world and the what if's.  Although I never got an answer to any of them my major question has always continued to be "what if religion never existed? would there be more peace or more hardships in the world?" I've wondered this because I can see both sides, without religion some people would lose themselves and not have a back bone to rely on, but at the same time those who rely to heavily on religion see themselves as just and commit atrocities. Another question I've had is about history specifically the hidden history of slaves and African Americans the things in books and articles and the things taught in school are completely different. From what I've read the history of being black was even more atrocious than I was taught in school as most likely it was purposely withheld. I wonder what other things were hidden and kept in the dark. Summary: I learned how to summarize any writing correctly. Refl...

Visual Representation of Your Origin Myth - Centuries Blame of Gods

Prompt: Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

Response: I've adapted by taking more measures to correctly understand the work I am given. Taking more intuitive notes on things such as origin myths. I've started more effectively using all the Literature tools I've learned over the past years. this helps me adapted to the demands or constant blogger posts and information consumed. Summary: I checked over my origin myth using the tools provided. Reflections: Using the checker I've realized I need to use more commas and work on my word play. Today's class really helped me realize that and apply it to my writing.

Prompt: How did creating your own origin myth help you better understand why cultures use stories to explain the origins of people, places, traditions, or natural events? In your response, describe the choices you made while developing your myth and explain the lesson, value, or human responsibility you wanted your story to communicate.

Response: Creating my own origin myth helped me better realize why origin myths were popularized by cultures and how they used them to give people a sense of knowing. While developing my own origin myth I wanted to include natural elements and avoid creating something entirely different or new to myths. My myth represents human misunderstandings and mythical elements. I wanted my lesson to show the damage lies can do to people and their relationships while also involving the creation of environment features and humans. Summary: Today we learned how to involve lessons in myths. Reflections: Creating an origin myth involved thinking about how I would add certain elements. This allowed me to figure out a theme that would easily fit the origin myth.

Prompt: Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

Response: When I was kid going on the green electrical boxes were my favorite pastimes. All my friends and I would plan what we would play next or just talk about random things. The electrical box is a childhood staple that I believe a lot of people remember when they were younger. It was a default meetup spot and a central checkpoint that every kid automatically took up. Every time I see one I remember all the memories shared there. Summary: I learned more about origins and the types of things they carry in them. Reflection: Origins were mostly used by Native American people to describe natural phenomenons. This knowledge helped me understand how so many tales of supernatural beings or things came to practice.

Prompt: Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

Response: As a kid playing elements was one of the few times I felt deeply connected to nature. Where me, my sister, and friend would pretend we had the elements of fire, water, air, and earth. Using that time to create stories and tales of our quests in the forest, we sat around an old tree we would call "father". Speaking and making up new stories as a kid in the forest deeply shaped me and my love for plants and nature.  That tree became our resting spot and safe space. Summary: I learned the definitions of types of origins and Native American use with origins. Reflection: The unique ways Indigenous people used language and origins to tell lessons still pass on to this day with stories.

Three goals I want to achieve this year

Response: I have a few goals that I want to achieve this year and that is to become more open to people and new experiences, do FBLA competitions, and get more involved in school clubs. These goals were goals I already had last year but weren't able to achieve. As of now slowly but surely I will achieve these goals by applying myself and talking to my teachers and guides on how to better meet them. These goals will overall guide me to my ultimate goal of completing High School as a better and more experienced person.
