Prompt: Emily struggles with letting go of people throughout her life, and the ending reveals the extreme length she went to in order to keep Homer with her. Why do you think some people have such a difficult time accepting loss or change? Connect Emily’s actions to your own observations or experiences with people struggling to let go.

Prompt Response: I've seen people get so stuck in losing someone that they drift to something else. They get into things that can fill their hole as their support system temporarily. I think that people depend on others so much that they can't imagine a life or even live a life without them. Remembering what once was or being stuck in the past makes it difficult for people to understand or even go through change.

Summary: We went through the rest of the story A Rose for Emily and answered the following questions.

Reflection: When people undergo loss or change that they can't understand or comprehend it tends to lead them to do crazy things.
